Goal: Before turning 21 visit and experience 50 countries
40 of 50 countries
I’m Anderson Rowe, a travel and documentary photographer based in Boston, currently working across the world. Photography started as a passion, but my first solo trip to Costa Rica changed the way I saw both travel and the camera. Being alone in a new place forced me to slow down, observe more closely, and trust my instincts. And that shift is what pushed me to pursue photography seriously.
Ha Giang, Vietnam
I’ve always been observant, drawn to details others might pass by. My work focuses on people landscapes and architecture, where I look for angles, moments, and compositions that feel lived in rather than staged. I’m interested in how people move through spaces, how cities carry history, and how everyday moments tell larger stories.
Yangykala Canyon, Turkmenistan
I travel both solo and with groups of like minded people, moving between slow stretches and faster paced journeys depending on the place. While I keep a loose list of countries I want to visit, most of my travel is improvised shaped by conversations, chance encounters, and love for the country. I don’t mind being uncomfortable if it means experiencing a place honestly.
Lost Coast, USA
After four years of shooting and photographing over 40 countries, my goal remains simple: to make work that feels real. I want to enjoy every place I go and take every photograph with intention. Whether through limited-edition prints or commissioned projects, I aim to create images that feel personal, grounded, and true to the moment they were taken.
